Travels with my camera

Thought it was about time I did another post. No photos to post though. Have only been shopping lately, nothing very exciting. But I wanted to mention that at tea time tonight it stopped raining. That is the first time for four days almost, apart from 10 minutes or so, now and then. We have been lashed with torrential rain, and gale force, sometimes near hurricane force gusts. One of my fence panels was completely destroyed on Sunday night. Roads have been closed with flooding, council workers are earning their money again for a change - seen the lorries out trying to unblock the drains all over the place. I went to Carmarthen shopping today, and Matalans has been shut since Sunday too, because they have lost some of their roof! The Towy has overflowed as usual all over the fields, alongside the by-pass is just one huge lake. It was milder too, so I have turned down all my storage heaters, and also the oil-filled rad in the bird shed. Now tonight the cloud has cleared and it feels bloody cold. Typical. :o(

Oh well, March is going out like a lion as goes the old saying. Thank christ it will soon be May. Poor lambs being born at the moment, the fields are full of the poor wee shivering things, laying in the mud. I wonder how many have died/will die of hyperthermia? (think I've spelt that wrong, but can't be bothered to look it up)

I think we still have more rain to come for the next few days according to the forecasts, great. I am already sinking four inches into sludge in the garden when I go to do the birds, much more and I will need waders. Great fun too when my new fence panel comes, will be a lovely struggle getting that up on my own, (not to mention pulling down what remains of the old one) But I really don't want to see into the garden of my neighbour (or should I say jungle) or a clear view through to the main road and the Spar shop. Although I guess it could be handy, I can just walk straight across if I need any shopping, save me about 200 yards going round the long way!

Something has gone dreadfully wrong with this website, hence my lack of posting for a while. I have just uploaded three photos from today, and they have just disappeared into thin air! Nothing, no error message, just a big fat blank screen. Well only to be expected I suppose, knowing the sort of day I am having, everything, but everything has gone wrong. The only good thing about it is the weather, well crystal clear blue skies since dawn, and its now 5pm and still sunny. Bitterly cold wind though, but t-shirt weather if you can get in a sheltered spot. Having travelled halfway round Wales (you think I am jesting) I ended up at Cwm Tudu where I took the pictures. Fully anticipating a nice spot of lunch sat outside at the little cafe's tables, I was thwarted in that it's still shut for winter, despite the place being packed with cars and people wandering around who would no doubt have enjoyed a coffee or even an ice cream. These people don't want to earn money do they? I already decided against Aberporth beach for that reason - only one cafe, and hardly ever open. I then went to New Quay, which was alive with people, couldn't move, parked a mile away (well nearly) from the chippy, and then was thrown out by the bloke who works in there because I had Emma with me. He must've got out of bed the wrong side I think, I have taken her in there lots of times before and never had a problem. He said to tie her up outside, well there was one tiny hook, and her lead immediately fell off, not to mention she would get walloped as soon as somebody opened the door, or trip someone over on the pavement, its too narrow. So I went off with the hump, stuff him. I have been going to that chippy for 12 sodding years, and always tell everyone its the best fish and chips in the Universe. Now I feel like never going there again tbh. Really annoyed. So I came home and had my usual lunch (very late) of cup-a-soup and toast and marmite. Grrrrrr.

Ah well such is life, will try again with the photos I suppose. Emma had a nice time anyway, cooled down in the sea, as she was very hot in the car, but bitterly disappointed about the lack of chips. She is getting so fat though, it is all for the best (I tell myself.)

Looking towards the coastal path, looks fab today with all the gorse in bloom. The caves below are where the seals live.

Last night we had a low of minus 8c, plus around 4" of snow. Was a nice sunny day today though and lots of it melted, but took some pictures first.

Horses in the field next to my garden, coming over to see if I had any food I think. I hope somebody came with some hay for them.
